Brandon grew up in Bentonville, Ark., and completed his undergraduate degree at Ouachita Baptist University, where he met his wife, Amy. Just a few days after they married, Brandon and Amy headed to Wheaton, Illinois, (near Chicago) for graduate school. During the eight years they lived in Chicagoland, Brandon worked as an editor for Christianity Today International, wrote freelance for a number of Christian publications, including Christianity Today, Relevant and Leadership Journal, and worked as an independent publishing professional in the Christian book industry. He completed his Ph.D. in historical theology in August 2013.
Brandon has written numerous articles for Christian publications, academic articles and book reviews in addition to two books. He is particularly interested in learning how best to understand the Bible and how to engage culture with the gospel.
